Prepare all the documentation that you will need for a problems-free travel: Identity Document (DNI, LC or LE), Identity Card, valid driving license, green card issued in the name of the driver, up-to-date receipts of the last three road tax payments and, if the vehicle has compressed natural gas, the identification card corresponding to said equipment.
In order to travel to neighbouring countries, you will have to add the marriage booklet or birth certificate of your minor children. In case both parents do not travel together, or they are separated, the express authorization of the non-travelling parent or guardian is needed, stating this circumstance before a judge or notary public or by public deed or consulate, and said authorization must be duly authenticated and state the place of destination and also that the minor is travelling with the other parent or guardian.
Do not forget the certificate of the mandatory insurance policy with its receipt or proof of payment. Verify the validity and coverage of said insurance. Remember that your car must have the letters and numbers of the license plate engraved at least on the windshield, rear window and larger side windows. If there are fewer than six windows, the ownership identification must be engraved in all of them.
