THE FERRARI PEERLESS APPEARANCE

Potrero de los Funes presented the marvelous show of the FIA GT category, a competition at an international level that shared the date in San Luis with the TC 2000. It was a first class show, where the Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati and Lamborghini race cars spun in an impeccable circuit filled with 40 thousand spectators.
The ACA official team displayed two Ferrari 550. In the GT1 Category, the couple formed by “Pechito” López and Esteban Tuero performed a remarkable race: they started last and manage to reach the third place but the demand of the recovery had an impact on the car and they finally arrived forth, before the Maserati C12 driven by the champions of the category, Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini. On the other hand, the double of Gastón Mazzacane and Martín Basso hadn’t had good luck and abandoned after 17 turns. In the podium of the GT1 was Cristian Ledesma who shared a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with the Belgian Maxime Soulet.
The winners of the GT2 class were Matías Russo and Luis Pérez Companc from Argentina, aboard a Ferrari 430. They rounded off a perfect week-end given that on Saturday they obtained the pole position and on Sunday they won without any problem. A score that is suitable to add experience facing the next season. It was a fun week-end and the best of all is that the date for next year’s FIA GT is already confirmed. Yes, in 2009 there will be a FIA GT in Potrero de los Funes. Show guaranteed!
